If you’re searching “is WK Laptop good” before clicking buy, you’re doing exactly what we’d do. A new Filipino brand on TikTok Shop, ₱11,999 for a Windows 11 laptop with lifetime MS Office — it either sounds too good to be true, or it’s a real deal you don’t want to miss. Most reviews you’ll find online are either marketing copy or random comments. This one’s different.

We make WK Laptop. We’re going to tell you the truth.

That means yes, we have a bias — we want you to buy. But we also know what happens if you buy the wrong product: bad reviews, refund requests, lost trust, dead brand. So instead of selling you anything, we’re going to be radical about one thing: we’ll tell you exactly what’s good, exactly what’s not, and who should look elsewhere.

By the end of this article you’ll know:

Let’s go.

What WK Laptop actually is

WK Laptop is a Filipino brand selling three laptop models directly through TikTok Shop. Same chassis, different chips — pick by workload:

All three models share the same chassis: 15.6” 1080p IPS display, ~1.7 kg, your choice of 128 / 256 / 512 / 1024 GB NVMe SSD, backlit keyboard, multiple USB-A ports + HDMI for monitor output, Windows 11 pre-activated, MS Office activated for life, and a 1-year local warranty serviced from our Makati office.

One transparency note: none of the three models has a USB-C port. If your workflow relies on USB-C peripherals (modern external monitors, some newer docking stations, or charging via USB-C), this is a hard pass. For typical office, school, and content-creation use with USB-A peripherals, it’s not a problem.

We design the specifications, partner with global supply chain partners who build for multiple major laptop brands, and ship directly to Filipino buyers. No middleman, no Lazada/Shopee markup (yet — those launches are planned), no third-party reseller game.

Now let’s get into the truth.

The 6 things WK does well

1. Real Windows 11, real MS Office — no asterisks

Most laptops in this price range either come with Linux (“install Windows yourself”) or a 30-day “Windows trial” that expires. We ship with pre-activated genuine Windows 11 Home, plus MS Office activated for life — not the Microsoft 365 trial. Check Settings → System → Activation on day one. Both Windows and Office will say active.

Why this matters: a Microsoft 365 subscription is around ₱200-300 per month. Over four years of college, that’s ₱9,600-14,400 in subscription fees alone. The lifetime Office activation alone is worth nearly the entire WK AuraBook entry price (₱11,999) — and most of the Core i3 or N95 price too.

2. Local warranty that actually works

The hardest part of buying a low-cost laptop in the Philippines is what happens when something breaks. “International warranty” almost always means “ship it to China at your own cost.” We service ours from Makati. If your unit fails within 1 year, you message us through TikTok Shop, we arrange pickup or repair, and you don’t pay shipping.

We’ve had failure rates around 2% in the first year — about industry standard for the budget segment. The point isn’t that nothing ever breaks. The point is that when something does, you have a Filipino phone number to call and a local address to ship to.

3. Brand-new sealed, not refurbished

Across our ₱11,999-16,998 tiers, a common alternative is a refurbished 2018-2020 ThinkPad, Dell Latitude, or HP EliteBook from a resale platform. Those can be solid, but they come with:

Ours arrive sealed in the original box, brand new, with full battery cycles.

4. 1080p IPS display, not 720p TN

At ₱11,999 a lot of competitors still ship 1366×768 TN panels — washed-out colors, narrow viewing angles, hard to read text. All three of our models ship with a 15.6” 1080p (1920×1080) IPS panel. The viewing angles are wide, colors are accurate enough for basic photo editing, and text on Word or PDF is sharp.

This is the spec we’re most proud of at this price.

5. NVMe SSD storage, not eMMC or SATA

Two very different storage types get called “SSD” in cheap laptops:

Ours are NVMe. Boot-to-desktop is around 12 seconds. Opening Word or Excel is instant. Day-to-day this matters more than the CPU does.

6. Backlit keyboard

You’d be surprised how many ₱15,000 laptops still skip backlight. Studying late, working from a dim coffee shop, watching a movie in bed — backlight saves your eyes and your typing accuracy. All three of our models ship with backlit keyboards as standard.

The 4 things WK doesn’t do well

This is the part most “honest reviews” gloss over. We won’t.

1. Battery life is around 2 hours — plan to stay plugged in

This is our most important honest disclosure. Real-world battery on all three of our models is around 2 hours of mixed Office work + Chrome + Zoom. You will need to keep the laptop plugged in most of the time you use it.

For comparison: MacBook Air gets ~15 hours, Lenovo ThinkPad X1 gets ~12 hours, a typical ₱25,000+ business laptop gets 8-10 hours. We don’t compete in this category.

This is a hard trade-off at our price point. To hit ₱11,999 with brand-new sealed condition, lifetime Office licensing, a 1080p IPS panel, and an NVMe SSD — four of the five most expensive items in our bill of materials — something in the remaining budget had to give. Larger battery cells and the voltage regulation circuitry that supports them were the line we cut.

Why the same battery on the ₱16,998 N95 too? All three models share the exact same chassis to amortize R&D, tooling, and supply chain costs across the lineup. The battery slot, cells, and voltage circuitry are physically identical. Designing a separate higher-capacity battery for one tier would push the higher-tier price beyond our budget category target.

If you need to use the laptop unplugged for any meaningful stretch — multiple classes back-to-back, coffee shop work without an outlet, travel days — our laptops will frustrate you. Look at refurbished business laptops with bigger batteries instead: used Lenovo T14 or Dell Latitude 7410 will give you 8-10 hours.

Think of WK Laptop as a desktop replacement, not a portable.

2. Speakers are okay, not great

The downward-firing speakers on all three models are sufficient for Zoom calls, YouTube tutorials at normal volume, and audiobooks. They’re not good for music listening as your primary speaker. If you care about sound, plan to add a ₱500 Bluetooth speaker or decent earphones.

This isn’t a deal-breaker for most students (everyone uses earphones anyway). But if you’re shopping for someone who wants a desktop-replacement media machine, look elsewhere.

3. Webcam is 0.3MP (VGA) — usable, but swap in a USB cam if you care

The built-in webcam is 0.3 megapixel (300K pixels, 640×480) — what most people call SD or VGA resolution. For basic Zoom or Google Meet attendance, it works. Your face is recognizable, audio is fine. But it’s not good — colors wash out in dim rooms, fine detail is soft, evening online classes look grainy.

The fix is cheap and easy. All three models have multiple USB-A ports that accept any standard plug-and-play USB webcam. A ₱500-1,500 webcam from Lazada or Shopee gives you instant 720p or 1080p — no driver install, just clip it on top of the screen and pick it as the default camera in Zoom settings.

If you do a lot of video calls — online tutoring, client meetings, content creation — budget the extra ₱1,500 for an external webcam on day one. If you mostly attend class and don’t appear on camera much, the built-in is fine.

4. Plastic chassis, no premium feel

The body is high-quality plastic, not aluminum unibody. It doesn’t flex when you pick it up by one corner (we tested), but it doesn’t have that premium cold-metal feel of a MacBook or XPS. The hinge works fine, not silky-smooth.

Cosmetically it looks decent for the price. But if you want a laptop that turns heads on the LRT, save another ₱10,000 for a Lenovo Yoga or a used MacBook Air M1.

Who WK Laptop is perfect for

WK Laptop is built as a plugged-in desk machine. If you mostly use a laptop at home, in a dorm, or at an office where you can keep it on charge, one of our three models probably fits you:

For these people, the trade-offs above (battery, speakers, webcam, plastic, no USB-C) don’t matter much, and the strengths (price, real Windows + Office, local warranty) hit perfectly.

Who should buy something else

Direct talk: if any of these describe you, don’t buy WK.

Be honest with yourself about your real workload. A wrong-fit laptop is a worse investment than a more expensive right-fit one.

How we’d buy WK Laptop ourselves

If a friend asked us how to do this, here’s our exact playbook:

  1. Pick the model by workload, not by price. Same chassis (15.6”, backlit, ~1.7 kg) across all three, so the chip is the choice:
    • AuraBook 15.6 (₱11,999, Celeron) — pure light office and student use. No games, no programming, no CAD. The cheapest option.
    • Core i3 (₱13,442, Intel Core i3) — heavy Excel, multi-tab Chrome, light programming, casual gaming. Most people land here.
    • N95 (₱16,998, Intel N95) — everything Core i3 does, plus AutoCAD 2D. Pick this if you draft.
  2. Order through TikTok Shop with COD if you don’t trust prepay. We’re fine either way.
  3. Open the package on camera — record the unboxing. Standard practice for any TikTok Shop purchase. Lets you confirm sealed unit + working power-on for refund disputes if needed.
  4. Verify Windows + Office activation on day one — Settings → System → Activation should say active for both.
  5. Save the receipt and warranty card — keep them as long as you own the laptop.

That’s the playbook.

Bottom line: is WK Laptop good?

Yes — if you’re the right fit.

WK Laptop is good for: students, office workers, freelancers, parents buying a first-college laptop, budget-conscious creators doing light editing, AutoCAD 2D draftsmen (pick the N95), and casual gamers playing Roblox, Dota 2, or Valorant (Core i3 or N95). The strengths — genuine Win 11 + lifetime Office, local warranty, brand-new sealed condition, 1080p IPS panel, NVMe SSD with 128-1024 GB options, backlit keyboard across all three models, casual gaming (Core i3, N95), AutoCAD 2D (N95) — hit harder than the weaknesses — short battery, mediocre speakers, low-res webcam (USB-upgradable), plastic body, no USB-C — at the ₱11,999 / ₱13,442 / ₱16,998 entry tiers.

WK Laptop is not good for: gamers, 4K editors, CS/engineering students with heavy IDE needs, anyone who needs to use the laptop unplugged for long stretches, anyone wanting a premium aluminum body.

If you’re in the first group, we’d love to have you.
